Having experienced SARS 2003, Hong Kong learnt a valuable lesson as a city and took personal hygiene awareness to the next level. Seizing the opportunity, Emily took the initiative to research and develop an antibacterial herbal formula, in a partnership with the School of Chinese Medicine of Hong Kong Baptist University. In 2010, Shang successfully formulated a Chinese medical recipe that proved to be an effective antibacterial measure against the threat of flu, legionnaires’ disease, Escherichia coli and four other diseases.
Co-Development of herbal solution with the School of Chinese Medicine of Hong Kong Baptist University*
*The School of Chinese Medicine of Hong Kong Baptist University was only involved in the invention and proof-testing of the herbal formula for using as air disinfectant, and was never involved in the development, manufacture and marketing of products of Shang Healthcare Ltd. Shang’s products are developed, manufactured and marketed solely by Shang Healthcare Ltd.
The formula of Shang Nano Air Antibacterial Series can kill over 96% of Staphylococcus Aureus, Staphylococcus Albus and Escherichia coli in the air. It has proved to be effective in killing more than 94% of influenza A H1N1 and influenza B viruses, and more than 99% of Legionella and Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria.
Shang Sterilizer is an effective agent against allergens in the air. Utilizing a patented herbal formula that infuses clove, schizonepeta and forsythia can effectively relieve the discomfort caused by nose allergy and flu.
In 2014, Shang established one of Hong Kong’s first mask factories, focused on local production of antibacterial face masks. Since then, Shang successfully patented its herbal formula in Hong Kong, China, USA, Europe, South Korea and Macau, and are later certified with SGS and CNAS tests.
